Training

Postby talisman » May 24th, 2010, 9:44 pm

I was wonderingif there is any one able to give cycle training (for adults) on the Island. I've had a look on the government website and can only come up with this: http://www.gov.im/transport/highways/Ro ... oficiency/
The contact us link is not working, so I have sent one to the generic mailbox and am some what pessimistic about a reply any time soon.
Do any of the local clubs run courses or are there any qualified trainers working indepantly?
I'd ideally like to do the training to become an instructor and was wondering if there would be any funding or any interest from others.
More info here: http://www.cyclinginstructor.com/cyclin ... $Category1)/048F370E02B1DBD38025741100510B3D?OpenDocument
Thoughts appreciated.

As far as I know no one delivers adult cycle training. I work as a cycle instructor for Road Safety Unit, but that is aim at instructing children.

I'll try and find out some more info about adult training.

I'm a qualified cycling coach and could do some independent work but it depends on what type of training your after?

There's no such qualification, as such, to instruct but to be a cycle instructor you require some experience working with children etc.

Hope that helps.
