Department of Transport Draft: Pedal Cycle Regulations Comments submissions.

The Department of Transport have written a draft document- Pedal Cycle Regulations 2010, that it is minded to submit to Tynwald for approval for inclusion in the Road Traffic Act 1985 which if passed will come into effect on 1 June 2010.

Attached are the Regulations draft document and a copy of the letter from the Director of Highways. He is calling for comments on the draft document from interested parties.

If you would like to submit a response obviously feel free to reply yourself, or if you would like to add your comments to a formal response on by the IOM Cycling Association then send your response in the first instance to stubrew at manx dot net and I will take them forward to the CA.

Isle of Man Cyclocross Racing

For possibly the first time on the Isle of Man, cyclocross racing has arrived! For those budding cyclocross riders that want to try their hand competitively then the MMBC has opened the door with the provision of a separate class in its mountain bike races to include this genre of cycle racer.

The race course will be the same as that for the mountainbikes with no special provisions other than class placings in the results. Feel free to try your hand. Race dates are advertised on this site or www.fancysomemud.com.

Round 5 Winter XC Series

The next round of the Winter XC Series will be the FINAL ROUND in the series.
The event will take place at South Barrule Trails on Sunday the 14th of March.
DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS FANTASTIC EVENT
Juniors sign-on 9am for a 9.30am start.
Adult sign-on from 9.30am for a 10.30 start.

Round 4 Winter XC Results

Well done to all those who attended Round 4 of the Winter XC Series at Archallagan.
The weather remained dry for the event but the mud was in full force in parts which made for an excellent test of bike skills and riders fitness.

Winter XC Series - NEXT EVENT

The next round of the exciting Winter XC Series will be held on Sunday 7th Feb, at Archallagan Plantation.

There will be the Junior event starting at 9.30am, followed be the Adult event starting at 10.30am.

Trail work!

Work Party postponed due to the Weather conditions on advice from DAFF. Sorry guys and gals but it's unlikely to be in a condition where we can either access or safely work.
